Comparing purchasing trends on ebay.com, amazon.com and buy.com
At first, it is important to analyze traffic statistics. I have taken relevant information on these three sites from Google Ad Planner. It has information on traffic statistics for the last one and a half years. Amazon.com and ebay.com’s trends climb, while buy.com’s trend stays almost the same throughout last one and a half years. As well, buy.com is less popular than ebay or amazon.
It is important to evaluate these websites, since growing number of people start buying online. I have found a certain consisting pattern: the more features a site has (user reviews, grading of a certain product, price offers, etc), the more popular a site is. Therefore, ebay.com is the most popular virtual shopping place in the world: about 14 million stable visitors a day. Users themselves determine the price of a product by participating in the ebay auction. It is also possible to buy products with a stable price. This possibility of choice attracts customers to the site. Amazon.com, second most popular shopping site in the world, with about 10 million stable daily visitors, has numerous features: five-star grading system, customer reviews, “customers who bought this item also bought..” section, “frequently bought together” section, Amazon’s Bestseller’s rank, customer discussions, “look for similar items” and so on. All this information proves to be useful when searching for a product to buy.
Another clear pattern emerged: the lower the age of visitors is, the less popular the site is. Buy.com had the youngest visitors on average. It looks like younger generation is more willing to try out new sites, not as popular yet.
I would suggest to buy on amazon.com, especially if you need a book. I have ordered about three-four times from amazon.com and all the time I have gotten a product to my post office. However, there were some delays in shipment but it is a minor issue. I have never used ebay, but as I have heard from some friends, there is a chance that the product you have ordered may differ from the product you have picked up. I do not know anyone who bought from buy.com
Therefore the safest and the most logical way would be to buy from the trusted and already proven website: amazon.com. Clearly, availability of different options, reviews and information on products is very helpful. No other site has such well-integrated features as amazon.com. As for entrepreneur, I would advice to sell you products on all of the above three websites, and even more. However, likely success is to happen on amazon.com or ebay.com, since its traffic rank equals to the population of an average European country.
More detailed and visual analysis in my presentation.

Facebook.com
I decided to analyse Facebook-one of the most rapidly growing networks in the world, also in Estonia. Users can add people as friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves. Additionally, users can join networks organized by workplace, school, or college.Facebook has more than 500 million active users all over the world , more than 700 000 companies are using facebook for advetising and marketing. An avarage facebook users spend 55 minutes in the network every single day.Sounds like a wonderland. But what are the pluses and minuses of the network?
I have used facebook over two years now and for me the biggest plus is that I can get in contact with people who I usually do not meet or who live in another country. I can read from their posts what they’ve been up to and what is new in their lives, where they have been etc. I also like the fact that whenever a person is online I can see it and talk to them privately .In general I can say that i like the compactness of the network- I can do everything in the same place-’’meet’’ m y friends, upload my pictures, find new activities and acquaintances, send meil, chat, find out about the upcoming events etc.
As for the huge number of users, facebook is a great marketing place for different companies. They can put up their advertisments, let people know about the variety of events coming up, conduct campagnes and in the end find new clients and customers, even partners.
For me the biggest minus with facebook is that people are sometimes far too open with the information they give out to the public. The comments they make or pictures they upload, the pages they visit. It seems as they aren’t aware that even if they delete things, the information is still out there and it can be found.
Also it’s common for the human recource managers to google people who have applied for a job and when people have uploaded inappropriate pictures or comments in places like facebook, then they will probably not be hired as it gives a very bad first impression of the person and also for the company if the person is hired. And people can also give out information that they shouldn’t about the company that they are working for,not even on purpose, but just for the lack of knowledge that everyone has access for the information shared.
Facebook is also a huge time abductor, because there are so many things one can discover and sometimes people just forget themselves in the network for hours, actually doing nothing. And that is also the reason why some companies have banned the network during working hours.
I think facebook.com is good networking system that has obviously attracted millions of people and companies ,to get the most of the system people have to be aware what is appropriate to publish and what is not as it is all out and open.
Facebook.com is a very good advertising atmosphere for the companies as the biggest goal is to get more clients and what could be a better place to find customers than a network with over 500 million active users.

Comparing visitors per day on facebook.com, orkut.com and twitter.com

First of all I checked information on those tree sites from many websites and one of them was Google Ad planner, Google analytics, Website hits - all of them give a very decent information of internet traffic on different sites. I checked information that has been up from 2009 january to 2010 july. It is amazing how facebook.com has bursted from 2009 and for example orkut.com trend has fallen and it stayed trough out the year on the same level and this year it fell even more. Twitter. com has been increasingly rising trough the year but it is still way behind from facebook.com. For me it is important to understand and evaluate why some social virtual networks are losing trends and some of them are gaining more popularity and users per day.
I analyzed all three sites and I have came to conclusion that Facebook.com bursted because of the wide range of services, games, communities, events and it is the one of the oldest social networking site. Facebook.com has much more features than orkut.com and this is the main reason why people started to re-register from orkut.com to facebook.com. Therefore, facebook.com is the most popular social networking site in the world: about 60-70 million visitors per day. People can upload their pictures, videos, tag people on their photos, play games and challenge other users, market products and services etc. It is very connected with each other and it is very easy to find new friends because facebook.com suggests new friends that has common friends with you. None of these features has orkut.com. It is not clear for me why orkut.com is still losing their users although they have new features. But most reasonable answer is that facebook.com is international brand and it is becoming even more popular.

Part II Cont.

How? Because facebook.com is not just social networking site, hollywood did a movie of facebook so it is now spreading even quicker than before and we may say that facebook.com is a brand.Twitter.com is very similar to facebook.com and I have assumption that twitter.com is trying to be a potential competitor. Twitter is trying to get more users from US and it has many popular artists, sportsmen, actors who are keeping their blogs up so fans can keep up every day with celebrities. It is very popular place to promote some products and services. It is not so social and it is more related to US consumers. But nevertheless it has 5-6 million users per day.
It is gaining attention but I think it is not enough to beet facebook.com popularity. Twitter is somehow not needed on the market because of the facebook’s popularity and simplicity.
Facebook has more than 500 million users and it is the most international social networking place. I would not suggest Twitter.com because of unclear trend. I have never used twitter, but I have heard from friends that is is very boring and not interesting and many people are still not informed of such place. Facebook.com is a very good place to find jobs because at the moment there are more than half of million companies represented world-wide and it is good place to find potential working place. Still I would suggest to keep reasonable distance with all social networks. Big minus is that many people become very opened in virtual communication but in real life people are becoming more closed, scisofrenics and unsocial. I would suggest to go out and spend some time with close friends and relatives.

Deviantart.com

I have been a member of Deviantart.com for two+ years. The idea of the site is to unite people with artistic skills all over our planet. The site involves art from poetry, music, paintings, 3D design up to architecture, graffiti and so on...
The site itself is 11 years old and based in Hollywood. At August 2010 the site contained over 14.5 million people and over 100 000 000 submissions, while growing at ~150 000 submissions of artwork per day.
Positive aspects of the site are:
• Big audience - a lot of people to see your work. [If facebook has friends then deviantart has watchers... these are people who love your work so much that they have decided to let the server notify them when every you post a new art piece]
• Online portfolio - for people who work at the field of art
• Constructive feedback - from people who do the same things as you. [I have learned 3d modeling for over 6 years all by myself till I joined deviantart.com. In there I learned new tricks and tip about three times as fast as before]
• Easy overview - easy to create groups of people, working on the same field and get updates on your friends. [It's great to keep an eye on what your best friend has pictured and posted or what other projects your co-worker has/is working on.]
• Allows to learn from others [Like I said before, the site allowed me to sort out what people do the most similar work as me and then contact them if I had some questions regarding their work]
• Gives a huge ego boost (can be a bad thing sometimes) [There's nothing better then a ego boost, provided that your a person who can control him/herself. Seeing other people giving positive feedback and adding your work to their favorites can create some pretty powerful motivation to work even harder & faster]
• Let's you to be visible to potential jobs [I got my second "so called" business partner contact from there :) ]
• Allows to sell your work [Some more recognized artist don't have to worry about looking for a place to sell their goods, the site does that for them]
• Free material [Some people post their work with a free to use/modify license. This is especially useful for people like me who sometimes need other peoples pictures to texture 3d meshes]
• Competitions can yield free stuff. (like iPads and high end graphics cards) [I won a few months subscription when designing deviantart logo during the contest. At the moment, I'm busy designing starships for an MMORPG game called EVE-online. The prices there are worth around 1500-3500$ depending on how good the starship looks]
Negative aspects of the site are:
• Work could be stolen [I haven't come across this yet, but in a community this large, I'm sure it has happened before]
• Can create negative feedback [There are always people who have either different opinions, no empathy, bad day or are just plain evil. This can sometimes slow down the creation progress]
I would encourage to check the site out yourself and sign up. I'm sure everyone has their own creative ability and deviantart is the biggest, I would even go as far as to say the only major creative community site in the internet at the moment. Who knows, you might even find some of your own friends work or learn how to do something in a new way. If not then maybe you can teach someone.

Xing.com is a professional social network (PSN) established in Germany, mostly spread in German speaking countries. XING brings together people who could benefit from one another. Especially for them who are interested making new business contacts, offer job, look for a job or just interested what’s going on in their fields. The company claims that it is used by people from over 200 countries. This year have been unique visitors 9,9 million, total visits 46 million, according to Googel planner. Available languages are sixteen. Basic membership is free, but if you want to search people with specific qualification (head-hunters, companies) you need to pay for it 5.95 Euros and you will get 1 year premium membership.
Registration process is quite simple: system confirms your e-mail address by sending it to certain control-link. Profile application – here you can enter your personal data in one piece or divide it to various blocks. One disadvantage of the software is that user is unable to upload his CV. If you want to display data from your CV you have to write it in (profile). One advantage of the profile is that next to usual fields, there are fields “wants” and “haves”.
For new user XING feels simple and clear. You can personalize your homepage and use internal messing system with linked users, it is safe, private and fast. You can also send messages to users you don’t know or public messages to groups. It is not allowed in several networks. One useful thing is a event schedule-calendra, from where you can keep track with upcoming events in XING.

Useful tool is search engine, you can specify your search by pointing out name (person or company), location, field of business etc.
Next useful tool is grouping. Participating in group’s actions you can discuss business with experts, find like-minded people, be part of exciting group events. There are over 17,000 groups in XING, covering nearly every topic imaginable, for almost every industry and field of activity.
Unique point of XING is so called Ambassador program for each city or region around the world with a substantial constituency. The Ambassadors hold local events that promote the use of social networking as a business tool.
One of the major tools of XING is labour market. There you can search job offers and save your search results for later viewing. It´s possible to get job offers with your keywords ( have, want). Addition to previous this tool is self-learning. While you search jobs, the system saves your keywords and automatically starts offering jobs when new offering with your keywords appear.
One advantage of XING is that you can synchronise all your contacts with your smartphone.
XING is also quite add free – no blinking and interrupting banners or other such type attention takers are left out. For adds there is special area, where users can view special offers from companies.
I think that these PN can be useful for understanding better how your colleagues in another countries, companies are doing. Comparing your skills and education with same position can give you very useful information. You can use this information to plan your caree. Also these networks can be effective in sharing information about changes in your business area.
Professional benefit of belonging to this network lies in the option to ask questions or guidance from top level professionals. XING gives you direct access to such high level specialists that traditional types of communication are more likely unable to reach.
My opinion of XING is that it’s a good mentor for business students. It gives you a possibility to compare yourself, to position yourself in labour market, to recognize skills that are expected from you to achieve, to study successful career descriptions, to develop lobby and communication skills.

Nokia sports-tracker
Nokia sports-tracker is application which turns Nokia mobile phone with GPS receiver into sport computer and with related internet site together makes new online community. Today’s site is located in web address http://www.sports-tracker.com/ and in this format it is quite new – it announced in April 2010. During first 48 hours application was downloaded tens of thousands times from 140 countries, which shows its popularity and internationality. This site had its predecessor in many years – sports-tracker beta, which had also great functionality and usability. I used this site also couple of years and despite of “beta” in the name they were very good application and very good website.
Site’s main idea is connect together people, who like sport and training, and are interesting to share their results and training diaries online. As the name points, important part in this game, is Nokia phone, with GPS capability. Application downloading is related to other community – Nokia OVI, from which Nokia also hopes becoming popular network community.
Sports-tracker application is usable for walking, running, skiing, cycling, mountain biking, hiking, roller skating, paddling, rowing, playing golf etc. You can even define new activities by yourself.
Application in phone is tracking your position by GPS, and gives to you a lot more information, than just your position on map. Lap times, speed, burned calories, altitude information etc. When you buy Polar WearLink(R)+ transmitter with Bluetooth(R) heart rate belt, your pulse is also stored in your training diary. You can see all this information on phone screen or analyze it afterwards from web diary, but you can share it online also. When I am going to run in dark autumn evening I choose “Share” function, and my wife can see on sports-tracker site my movement on the map with 5 second accuracy. No more worry, if I feel good to run some extra distance. When I take pictures during my activity with the same phone, they are placed on the map in the right position.
On the Sports-tracker site you can find people over the world, making their trainings and you can easily found training partner in your neighbourhood, interested in the same activity. If you like train alone, you can still compare your movement with someone, who chose the same route in different time. Even, if you hate running, it is interesting to watch online, if someone is sharing his/her training and bubble on map runs in Australian desert or in Hyde Park, London. You can feel that something is connecting you both.
I am interested in orienteering and I participated in Rogain on last weekend. With sports-tracker running phone in my backpack our team covered 51 kilometres in 8 hour. I shared my track with friends afterwards (http://www.sports-tracker.com/#/workout/Urmaz/8getrbrlv94h9btu), we analyzed track and route decisions and I got lot of useful suggestions. Hopefully they are useful and next competitions are with even better results.
How can it be useful for business? Sports-tracker has its own web shop, which is not overloaded with stuff at the moment. Of course, this isn’t easily accessible channel for beginning business. I know, that people, whose hobby is some kind of sport, will easily spend a lot of money to improve their equipment. If you have business idea in this area, it would be good place to attract customers. Information is today very valuable, and here is all you need. You can see all data of your potential customers are shared off: their location, age, weight, preferences. Maybe it is also good place to make word to mouth advertisement. If you are good in programming, and open minded, you can write your own application improvement or plug-in for Sorts-tracker.

LinkedIn

The membership grows by a new member approximately every second. The purpose of the site is to allow registered users to maintain a list of contact details of people they know and trust in business. The people in the list are called Connections. Users can invite anyone ,whether a site user or not, to become a connection.

This list of connections can then be used in a number of ways:

A contact network is built up consisting of their direct connections, the connections of each of their connections (termed second-degree connections) and also the connections of second-degree connections (termed third-degree connections). This can be used to gain an introduction to someone a person wishes to know through a mutual, trusted contact.
It can then be used to find jobs, people and business opportunities recommended by someone in one's contact network.
Employers can list jobs and search for potential candidates.
Job seekers can review the profile of hiring managers and discover which of their existing contacts can introduce them.
Users can post their own photos and view photos of others to aid in identification.
Users can now follow different companies and can get notification about the new joining and offers available.
Users can save (i.e. bookmark) jobs which they would like to apply for.
The "gated-access approach" (where contact with any professional requires either a preexisting relationship, or the intervention of a contact of theirs) is intended to build trust among the service's users.

LinkedIn also allows users to research companies with which they may be interested in working. When typing the name of a given company in the search box, statistics about the company are provided. These may include the ratio of female to male employees, the percentage of the most common titles/positions held within the company, the location of the company's headquarters and offices, or a list of present and former employees.

The feature LinkedIn Answers, similar to Yahoo! Answers, allows users to ask questions for the community to answer. This feature is free and the main difference from the latter is that questions are potentially more business-oriented, and the identity of the people asking and answering questions is known.

The searchable LinkedIn Groups feature allows users to establish new business relationships by joining alumni, industry, or professional and other relevant groups. LinkedIn groups can be created in any subjects and by any member of LinkedIn. Some groups are specialised groups dealing with a narrow domain or industry whereas others are very broad and generic in nature.

Linkedin is an active social network which is mainly oriented to business connections instead of sharing so-called “party pics” as many other social networks present themselves. It is mainly used to find business partners (clients, contractors etc) and employees. Also other way around – presenting yourself with purpose to be found as a contractor or an employee. Linkedin isn’t that popular in Estonia at the moment but at the same time it is very useful tool to those who are really interested in entrepreneurship.

www.ebay.com

Ebay is a worldwide network, which offers you an opportunity to buy and sell things below market price. Usually buying from ebay is cheaper than from shop, otherwise it would have no point. You can only see the pictures but you can’t touch the things you are buying.
Ebay is situated in many countries, domain is always different, for example ebay.it, ebay.de etc. Most used is still ebay.com, United States version, it is also the first and origin one.
Ebay is divided into parts:
1) Categories – you can choose the exact category what kind of product you need: books, music, clothes, travel, health etc. It makes the process of finding the right product very convenient.
2) Fashion – clothes are one of the biggest categories in ebay, so finding the right ones is made as easy as possible for the possible clients.
3) Motors – many people all around the world buy cars and other motor equipment from here. This shortcut gets them directly to the right place.
4) Daily deals – offers the best prices for certain day.
5) Ebay classifieds – it is ment for local people, inside USA, shipping is free.
Money transfers are operated trough PayPal, which is owned by ebay. There are two opportunities to buy. First one is “Buy it now” and second one is “bidding”. Bidding is useful if you don’t need the product desperately and you are prepared that somebody might offer greater bid. By bidding there is a chance to get the product cheaper than its market price. But if you can’t risk the chance of losing bidding, it’s more useful to “buy it now”.
Sellers are shops, entrepreneurs, private persons. You can leave your feedback after buying, everybody can see how trustful certain seller is. There is also quality mark “Top-rated seller”, show that you can always trust her/him.

Facebook

I presume that almost everyone in western countries have at least heard of Facebook. I could quote several sources about the history of Facebook, but for this brief paper I find it irrelevant. I would not say Facebook is the best virtual network for student self-development or international career or finding new business opportunities, but I find it the best in unifying these three. And what influences me the most is of course the reason that I am also involved in this network.

Facebook has over 500 million users (New York Times) and the amount is increasing. So possibilities for companies to reach substantial amount of customers and potential customers are nearly boundless. Posting links from another sources is convenient so sharing information with your contacts is fairly easy. Companies are establishing their Facebook profiles so that they can inform customers about their campaigns etc. So to some extent Facebook is replacing email lists.

Facebook has been criticized a lot for its privacy. Earlier this year they leaked out one fifth of their users private information (Telegraph). There is also a risk for identity theft (BBC), which every user should be aware of. And of course not forgetting that people have lost their jobs due to things they have posted to Facebook (BBC). Nowadays there are also plenty of applications inside Facebook, which users can add to their profile. The problem with these application arises they might have been created by hackers, who use them for data phishing. (Keskisuomalainen).

So after those and several other cons, one should really think why over 500 million use a virtual network with such severe flaws. For me, it is a really convenient way to communicate friends or organize events. Via chat I can get responses instantly and if I need to discuss in private with some more serious matters I can send private message, which is similar, as I would send email.

As a conclusion I find Facebook really useful network to communicate with friends, but it is not appropriate place for serious business contacts (Taloussanomat), because of its flaws. One should avoid publishing too much personal information on oneself, which is, shockingly, totally the opposite, according to the O’Dell’s article in www.readwriteweb.com. The profile data is backup copied into Facebook servers and can be used decades later after publishing for instance in a case of information theft (Keskisuomalainen).

Facebook
At first we have to look at how they define themselves : Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them." It means you can add people who you consider to be friends and add pictures you want others to see, plus you can „like“ people, pictures, fanpages, campaigns etc. Social site facebook has now became the worlds most popular site for social communications, by 500 million users. Even in Estonia there are about a quarter of million users which is 1/5 of Estonias population. 1/5 of population who use this site, make facebook powerful media source, where to look up old friends, where to seek for a job and where to advertize a company and ofcourse where to spend your free time, since it also offers online games, local communities and lets you stay at home while doing it. It is an online social-life and also a win-win situation for both sides, because companies get more advertisement and feedback of their product or service and they can interact with individual users to improve their company. For individuals the advantage of facebook is to get to know your employer, learn about different companies by getting basic information and also to win something out of games that companies make if you update yourself of what is going on on their facebook fanpage.Since facebook's success has drawn attention to many companies, they started to make all sorts of campaigns to get people to be active on their fanpage. It is also possible for your future employer to see your facebook profile, so we do not want to draw negative attention to ourselves and damage your reputation. It is best to be careful about the comments you make online. How facebook can help companies ? Through Polls — Facebook Polls are great for marketers looking to get a quick answer about a particular feature they’d like to implement, or just to find out information and opinions from a specific demographic. Facebook Connect: enables your website to easily integrate with Facebook. Now you can integrate Facebook into your login process, retrieve users’ friend information, and even post data back to users’ Mini Feed so all their friends can see their activity. Think of Facebook Connect as the new beacon, with much more flexibility to do even more throughout your site! Applications give you full power to say or promote anything you want about your business, and use the social tie-ins provided by Facebook to do this. For instance, Visa created the “Visa Business Network” application, which takes information about users and allows them to better network with other small business owners. They even integrated with Facebook advertising by offering those that install the app a credit towards advertising on Facebook. To conclude everything i must say that even me who is not a computer person, have found my way to facebook since everybody started using it.

FACEBOOK
I Chose facebook.com, because it is one of the best virtual network for student self-development, Social Interaction, finding new business opportunities or partners. Facebook has more than 500 million active users from all over the world, which is really wide amount of people.
To begin with, it is a very good network to connect with your new and old friends, business partners or even with companies. There are several opportunities for that: you can chat with them when they are online, write them a letter or scrap to their “wall”. Good communication opportunities make it also easier to chat with strangers and find new contacts. There are thousands of different communities, where people from all over the world can share their interests and knowledge. A lot of people use this opportunity to get information or to share their ideas.
Secondly, Facebook is a major business environment. It is one of the easiest way to advertise and to earn money. You can promote your work and yourself whenever you want and to a really wide audience. All you need to do, is find something attractive to give as a gift for those who “like” your company and share the information about it. Sooner, you can imagine you ‘ll have thousands of fans within a very short time. After being a fan they will receive all the publicity about your company, products and campaigns. It is very good way to promote your products and to have a really good connection with your customers. They can share their opinions, worries and proposals-it is a shortest way to get feedback from your end user. The main reason why it is so popular, is because of it’s probably the cheapest way to promote your company. The spending is usually ridiculously small, comparing to other places where you promote yourself: such as newspaper, magazine or any other internet advertisement. Nowadays it is very important to be connected, and facebook let’s you do that.
Like everything else has facebook also some cons.
There are many unwanted “be my friend” requests that it is sometimes hard to just talk to your friends and not to deny the requests. Also other users can snoop around and they know all the time, what is happening in your life. You clearly don’t know how your information, pictures and everything else is protected. Also, you need to consider that all the information you publish is available for total strangers and they can use it like they want to. Furthermore, your friends can “tag” you at photos. Which means that they can upload, for example Party photos, on the web and you could be the last one who finds out about it. This might be really embarrassing and not good for you as a person or worst it can weaken your position at work.
To sum up, facebook has some pros and cons like any other webpage. But in my opinion it is very useful and helps people to communicate in so many ways. Everybody can find something useful from there.

eBay is an American internet customer-to-customer corporation. It was founded in 1995.The company manages eBay.com, an online auction and shopping website in which people and businesses buy and sell a broad variety of goods and services worldwide. Now it is very popular, especially among the people who usually buy and sell something online. The main points that we can learn from this website is that you can buy everything you want from a bag of tea to the car from america. You just search what you want and eBay shows you a lot of different types of things you want to buy. Variety of the products is impressive. You just pay with a credit card for anything you want and wait for your product to come directly to the adress you outlined. Depends on the country from where your product will be delivered, you have to wait just about one-two weeks.
The main company goals with the site is to protect users from fraudsters. The only negative point of this website is that you have to fear users, who can deceive you. They wait for you to pay them money for the product they dont send out. This is probably the only negative side of eBay.
Looking at the website of Ebay.com we pay attention on the institution’s logo. It takes about 6-7 seconds focused on this area before moving on. In this case we see some phrases which attract us, such as, free shipping, low prices. The navigation of menu which we can see on the left side is very simple and clear. You will not have to rise your time and find the information you need very long time. This menu let you as quickly as possible get it. In the middle of the page we see the search box. It is also very important and makes the work easy. Also the site’s main image is eye-catching. Since its founding in 1995, eBay Inc. has grown rapidly to become most visited Internet shopping site. Often called the world's largest virtual bazaar, consumers throughout the United States and abroad of all descriptions, interests, and income levels have flocked to eBay's online person-to-person trading community to buy and sell items as varied as antique maps and Barby babies. eBay's success has spawned other online commerce sites that offer consumers the opportunity to buy and sell merchandise to each other online.
